About Us
Mosaic Dance Company
The Mosaic Dance Company is a semi-professional touring dance company comprised of students at CSUDH. Guest artists, faculty members, and students set works on the company which are performed in concerts on campus and in the surrounding community. Through a variety of dance styles, the Mosaic Dance Company provides a professional training experience for the students involved and provides dance education and performances to underserved populations in the community.
Directors
Artistic Director Amy Allen
Amy Michele Allen has performed in the musical theatre works of such notable choreographers as Bob Fosse, Agnes de Mille, Susan Stroman, Gower Champion, and Michael Bennett. She received her professional training from River North Chicago Dance Company, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Tony award-winning artist, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Gelsey Kirkland. She is currently represented by Bloc Agency.
Directors
Assistant Director Tia-Nischelle Turner
Tia-Nischelle Turner graduated from CSUDH in 2019 with a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts, Dance Option and English Education. She earned her Master’s degree from CSUDH in English Literature in 2022. She is the Assistant Director for Mosaic Dance Company and works in the entertainment department at Knotts Berry Farm. Tia’s future goal is to open a dance studio geared towards students with both learning and physical disabilities. Thank you to my costume designer, music editor, and Amy Allen, for their help and support. Thank you to my dancers for their commitment and hard work in making this piece come alive.
