By Amy Allen Periodic Beat began as nonsensical words on a page. These words were read to dancers and they interpreted and embodied them. The created phrases acted as small building blocks edited and rearranged ultimately making up the choreography of the piece. This is the second time this experiment has been conducted, and because it was originally performed on different dancers, it has resulted in a completely different piece.

It celebrates the miracles that lie under foot and surround us every moment of every day

By Tia-Nischelle Turner Chemistry illustrates how people are internally connected to music. Using hip-hop, house, and groove dance vocabulary, Chemistry shows that the bond between humans and beats starts with the body reacting, resulting in the physical interpretation of what the mind perceives.

By Amy Allen What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore— And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over—like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? “Harlem” by Langston Hughes

By Emily Escobedo The beauty of the world did not originate in museums filled with priceless art. It was not found in the menufactured good that adorn our bodies. It came from the sun which gave us light and warmth. It exists in the earth on which we walk. It exists in the earth on which we walk. It is gifted to us in the water that drops from the sky.

By Emily Escobedo Experiencing grief and pain is a journey that one walks alone. It is an endless course where one can rise and fall at any given moment.
